One of the main priorities in the work of ISIDA clinic specialists is the continuous improvement and development in the treatment of all forms of male and female infertility. On June 27-29, 2018, the World Congress on Habitual Pregnancy Loss (WCRPL) was held in Madrid, which was attended by the deputy chief physician of the Infertility Treatment Center, head of the department “Miscarriage Treatment Center”, reproductive doctor, geneticist, ultrasound doctor Khazhilenko Ksenia Georgievna. Ksenia Georgievna not only listened to the opinions of the congress participants regarding current problems and ways to solve them in the treatment of habitual pregnancy losses, but also presented to their attention a poster report on the topic “Assessment of individual risk of thrombosis in patients with miscarriage”.
It is difficult to overestimate the importance of holding such an event among specialists dealing with the problem of miscarriage, because the most difficult test for a woman has always been and will remain the loss of a long-awaited child. At the same time, modern statistics do not bring consolation: the clinically confirmed percentage of pregnancy losses is 15-20%, and the number of diagnoses of “habitual miscarriage” has been growing inexorably lately. In about 50% of cases, it is not possible to identify a clear etiology, and doctors of various specializations make diagnoses based on specific studies, which sometimes contradict each other. It becomes obvious that in order to solve the problem of habitual miscarriage, it is necessary to resort to an interdisciplinary approach that takes into account the entire spectrum of the patient’s health status: from the physical to the emotional background.
“This is the third time that the World Congress on Miscarriage gathers specialists in a very special field: despite the high prevalence of the problem, there are few specialized institutions with a multidisciplinary approach, where a comprehensive examination and treatment of such patients is carried out in the world, – says Ksenia Khazhilenko. – Therefore, the scientific program of the congress included a wide range of areas that are important for the treatment of pregnancy losses. The modern strategy of managing patients with miscarriage is increasingly uniting gynecologists and reproductologists due to the research-recognized relationship of such fertility disorders as miscarriage, infertility and unsuccessful IVF attempts. It is noteworthy that this approach was the basis of the idea of creating the ISIDA Miscarriage Treatment Center.”
Participation in scientific and practical conferences and congresses like the one held in Madrid is one of the priorities of the ISIDA clinic. The dreams of thousands of people who are faced with the problem of conceiving or carrying a child become a reality thanks to the work invisible to patients to find and introduce new technologies and techniques into their practice. At ISIDA, such an experience has been successfully existing for 26 years of work, and we do not intend to stop there, continuing to keep up with the times and innovations of modern medicine!
