Vitrification in ISIDA clinic
Efficiency of the “ISIDA” clinic embryology lab is based on experienced and qualified personnel, as well as on using of high-quality embryo culture methods.
For each patient, we can get a high number of viable embryos. These results and single embryo transfer policies, in order to prevent multiple pregnancy occurrences, requires reliable cryopreservation technology for surplus embryos. In this purpose our laboratory performs vitrification.
Vitrification is a technique for cryopreservation of both gametes and embryos. The definition of vitrification is “..an instant solidification of a solution brought about by an extreme elevation in viscosity during cooling without ice crystal formation”. Vitrification is a fast cryopreservation method with high about 98% survival rates, due to low risks of damages to the cells from ice crystal formation.
This technique allows cryopreserving quality embryos at any stage of development, but in ISIDA clinic we prefer the day 5 embryos, to ensure the absence of development block on the previous stages. Specialized carriers allow us to freeze embryos by one or by the group, depending on the number of treatment attempts in the future.
Vitrification also allows freezing gametes. Oocyte cryopreservation enters the mainstream of techniques in Assisted Reproductive Technologies in humans.
This method is available to any woman of reproductive age about to undergo treatment that may be detrimental to her ovarian functioning, or even as an effective option for young women wishing to store some of their ‘young eggs’ for use in later life.
ISIDA`s laboratory worked out enough experience in fertilization of frozen-thawed oocytes, obtaining high-quality embryos and getting good pregnancy results. Rather freezing eggs at an early age, and it may ensure a chance for a future pregnancy.
ISIDA clinic always strives to introduce the latest technologies, such as vitrification, which open new opportunities for realization of our experience and achievement of high results of treatment effectiveness.
