Alina Palamarchuk at the Conference “Hemostasis and Reproduction”

On March 27-29, 2017, the International Conference “Hemostasis and Reproduction” took place at the premises of I.Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University. Alina Palamarchuk, Obstetrician-Gynecologist and Fertility Specialist has been among participants of this conference.

The key topics discussed at the conference were:

  • hemostasis and maternal mortality;
  • thrombosis and inflammation in pregnant women;
  • genetics and reproduction immunology;
  • risks of thrombosis associated with hormone therapy;
  • miscarriage from immunohematology point of view;
  • placental dysfunction against the backdrop of hematological disorders.

Participants of the conference have closely examined fetal and newborn hemostasis, thrombophilic risk factors of perinatal mortality, as well as laboratory diagnostics of hemostasis issues. In light of this, reports delivered by speakers Professor Benjamin Brenner (Professor of Hematology, Israel), Sam Shulman (Professor at the Division of Hematology and Thromboembolism, Canada), Professors of Obstetrics and Gynecology Makatsaria A., Zaynulina M., Radzinsky V., Bezhenar V., Professor of Hematology Momot A., as well as leading Russian medical experts specializing in vascular surgery, hematology and laboratory diagnostics were received with great interest.

The Conference “Hemostasis and Reproduction” is particularly relevant due to the fact that according to statistics bleeding-related mortality is ranked two among other causes of death. In view of this, great attention is paid to hemostasis issues in pregnant women worldwide.
In terms of its scale and topics covered, the All-Russian Conference with international participation “Hemostasis and Reproduction” has become truly a pioneer multi-disciplinary event that was held in Russia. Unfortunately, despite the depressing statistics, thus far there has been no clearly-defined global general procedure for diagnostics and monitoring of patients with hemostatic issues.

Therefore, referring to relevant data of the global research, the speakers shared the latest results of scientists and practitioners’ work and brought to the audience’s attention their own clinical observations in various areas linked to hemostasis. This, in turn, allowed the participants of the conference to significantly expand their knowledge and learn more about international practices used to address the issues in the area of hemostasis.

“As an Obstetrician-Gynecologist and Fertility Specialist in ISIDA Clinic, I consider reports on diagnostics of patients with miscarriages, the follow-up examination of fetuses and newborns whose parents have a risk of thrombophilia to be of particular importance. The workshop on the use of the hemostatic matrix in the cesarean section was absolutely brilliant,” Dr. Palamarchuk shares her impressions about the conference. “All that I have learned during the conference has been already shared with the doctors of all departments in ISIDA. This means that the latest developments in the world’s medicine in the area of hemostasis will be used in our practice to treat the patients.”

Since its establishment, ISIDA strives to ensure advanced professional training and proficiency enhancement of its doctors. Obstetricians-gynecologists, embryologists, laboratory assistants, anesthesiologists, surgeons, pediatricians, as well as physicians specializing in other areas participate regularly in the largest medical congresses, workshops, and symposia hosted both in Ukraine and overseas. This enables ISIDA Clinic to provide its patients with world-class services in accordance with the best European protocols.

Dr. Palamarchuk has 15 years of experience and is a member of the Ukrainian Association of Reproductive Medicine (UARM) and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE). She takes part in research and practice conference and congresses both in Ukraine and abroad on a regular basis and attends the Annual Meetings of ESHRE which is evidenced by CME Accreditation Certificate of Attendance.

Specializing in assisted reproductive technologies, endoscopic surgery, gynecological endocrinology and ultrasound in obstetrics and gynecology, Alina Palamarchuk deals with infertility diagnostics and treatment in ISIDA Clinic.
